Permaculture Sites

PPA-engages with the avant-garde, people who are radical and out-of-the-box thinkers, and LGUs who wand to break free from the status quo of social, cultural and environmental issues.

Our Organization

The organization recognizes the initiatives of our partners and members through the endorsement and support of their permaculture sites. PPA respects preferential attachments, that’s why we hail these sites as essential nodes that can connect with other nodes, with similar foci and interests, to form hubs.

Locations

The solid hubs can then be set up as Permaculture Resilience Institutes, which can all be interconnected to form a super network with one focus, the advancement of permaculture in the country. Let us all be mycelia at the roots of the permaculture tree; work together to unlock all the possibilities to nourish permaculture so we can all share its bounty.

In cooperation with LGUs and local groups, we want to create an impact! A PRI is a statement of place, energy and pattern. Being PPA’s motto, GeneRating Ecosystems-based Abundance Together (GREATogether) is the goal of each PRI. In the context of building up the system, PRIs showcase the 4Ps of permaculture in their site development– Protection, Production, Processing and Promotion, which is key to the success of all permaculture projects.
To reinforce this, the Filipino values system of Buti, Pamantayan, Halaga, and Ganda (Jocano, 2008) contextualizes permaculture practices to each locality. These 4 components anchor the products and services of the PRI to the local skills, practices and knowledge. PPA works with the local government units, communities and individuals to identify the best possible solutions to local problems. The PRI, the command center of local permaculture initiatives, will serve as a model of small-scale efficient systems which can be replicated and applied to the whole municipality, city or province.
